Litigation Secretary - Business Litigation

Location: Irvine, CA

Compensation: Up to $95,000 (DOE)

Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Our boutique litigation firm in Irvine is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Secretary to support attorneys handling complex business litigation matters. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and takes pride in producing high-quality legal work while keeping litigation operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, and finalize litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Format, proofread, and file documents in compliance with California state and federal court rules, including e-filing
  • Maintain attorney calendars, track litigation deadlines, and manage court appearances and hearings
  • Coordinate service of process and manage discovery deadlines and responses
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
  • Assist with trial preparation, including binders, exhibits, and logistics as needed
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support the litigation team

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a litigation secretary or legal assistant in a law firm
  • Strong knowledge of California civil litigation procedures and court filing requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal document management systems
  • Experience with state and federal e-filing systems (including CM/ECF)
